The St. Joseph Maverick Athletic Program participates in the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) athletic program against other Catholic Parishes and Catholic Academies throughout the Archdiocese of Detroit. Registered members of the parish and students of St. Joseph School, who are in the 3rd through 8th grades, are invited to participate in the athletic program. The mission of the St. Joseph School Athletics Program is to build Christian character through participation in organized sports programs, and to develop well-rounded individuals who realize the importance of combining spirituality, academics, and athletics.
Members of Christ the Redeemer, St. John Fisher, and St. Joseph parishes who are in the 3rd through 8th grades are also invited to participate in the St. Joseph Athletic Program for all CYO Sports offered here at St. Joseph: volleyball, football, cross country, basketball, Track and Field, baseball, and softball.

To be eligible to participate in the Archdiocese of Detroit's Catholic Youth Organization athletic program, particpants should be Saint Joseph school students or parish members and neighboring parish participants who have been
baptized. In addition, parish members should:
Be registered in an approved Religious Education Program and maintain regular attendance. For those enrolled in the St. Joseph Religious Education Family Study program, attendance at scheduled meetings is required.
Submit a weekly grade report signed by the participant’s teacher(s) to maintain a "C-" or better grade average in each subject.
Please note: The St. Joseph Athletic Program does not make cuts. In order to have the policy work, we need coaches to handle the additional teams. Should we have too many players and not enough coaches, the priority will be given to students at St. Joseph School for participation.
